LLUKAR LIVE SESSIONS
LLUKAR LIVE SESSIONS are non-performative performances. They feature musicians from Kosovo and around the world, captured in both video and audio formats.
GILLESPIE
Formed in 2005, GILLESPIE is an influential band of the underground rock’n’roll scene in Prishtina and Kosovo. GILLESPIE enjoys experimenting with noisy psychedelic fusion. This live video session of GILLESPIE consists of songs from the second album ‘Numroj n’Numratore’, with Hana as an original album vocalist.
FRISSON
FRISSON focuses on creating a unique sound that blends a wide variety of metal influences, in a compact musical language that has innovative musical form, groove-based, and fluid rhythm section, balanced with melodic structures and expressive use of vocals channeling lyrics with societal related issues of contemporary Kosovo.
THIS IS NOT
THIS IS NOT is not a static collective from Prishtina, but rather a moving structure that subtly endorses manipulation with synthesizers and live instruments.
URIM MALIQI
Urim Maliqi is more than just a guitar lover. He started music school at seven and, by ten, was winning top awards in classical guitar contests. He was chosen as one of three international guitarists to study at the prestigious ESMD conservatory in Lille, France, but COVID-19 halted those plans. Urim has taken masterclasses with famous guitarists like Lukasz Kuropacewzski, Paolo Pegoraro, Gabriel Bianco, Ehat Musa, Xhevdet Sahatxhija, Stefan Schmidt, and Petrit Çeku. Now, at just 20 years old, he studies with the renowned Drilon Çoçaj. Unbelievable!
HAWOLF
4 brothers who previously produced many records as individuals with different projects/bands. Now they have all joined together under one name.
PINKMETAL
Punk/rock group Pinkmetal hails from Prishtina. The band’s music is described as beautiful “chaotic” punk, and its lyrics have been described as being satirical, blunt, critical, and yet soulful. Pinkmetal just recently released the single ‘Shok’, which is part of the upcoming third album ‘Beton’, due to be released by the end of the year.
LA FAZANI
“La Fazani” is the stage name of Arbër Salihu, a composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Prishtina, Kosovo. Since 2013, Arbër has collaborated with many Pristina artists, including “Cute Babulja,” Genc Salihu, and Edona Vatoci. He is best known as part of the duo “Oborri,” which released its first album in 2017 with four music videos. He has won awards for composing music for film and theatre and creates children’s songs for the educational platform “Planeti i Fëmijëve.” His classical piece “Variations on Luleborë” was featured in the 2020 “Anthology of young Kosovar composers.” In 2022, he launched “La Fazani,” blending hip-hop, rock & roll, Albanian folk, and African rhythms to craft lively songs about Kosovo’s social life. He now performs with a 5-piece live band of top Kosovar musicians.
SYTË
Fusing pop-perfect hooks with a laid-back indie style, SYTË is an emerging band making its mark in the alt-pop scene. Originally a duo, the group formed back when vocalist Nita Kaja was visiting Prishtina and met her future partner and bandmate Drin Tashi. Nita left New York for Prishtina and the duo worked on their first EP together. They have since evolved into a four-piece band, having teamed up with drummer Granit Havolli and bassist Fatlind Ferati. They are known for their electrifying performances and have played in a number of well-known festivals like the Pop-Kultur Festival, Sunny Hill Festival, and Localize Festival to name a few. Now, Nita and Drin are back in New York to grow as artists and expand their audience.
MILK SNATCHERS
Formed between 2022 and 2023, MILK SNATCHERS is an Alternative Music Band from Prishtina, Kosovo. MILK SNATCHERS’ sound is a fusion of genres, combining different characteristics and styles into one unique piece of music. This live session of MILK SNATCHERS contains three songs, one from their debut EP “Pulse and Publes” and two other unreleased tracks.
ZWADA
Suada Abazi (ZWADA) is a singer/songwriter from Prishtina who quickly gained attention with her captivating voice and diverse songs. She began her career alongside her former drummer, Philipp Kleiner, who added a unique percussive sound to her music. Suada offers a rare lo-fi bedroom pop style that resonates in any setting—whether at home, in the car, or at a party. ZWADA is simply Suada’s nickname, without a specific meaning.
HUMUS
HUMUS, an alternative rock band formed in 2002 in Pristina, is known for their alternative rock style and original lyrics containing strong social and existential messages. The band released their first album, “Dyfishohem,” in 2002, followed by “Intermezzo-In” in 2005. In 2020, the band made their comeback by releasing four singles from their third studio album: “Enderroj,” “Per ty,” and “Rruga,” along with their newest single “Amshim” released in November 2023.
TOKA SHITET
Idriz has been rolling the ball since 1986. Legendary, singular and raw. As much irony as the artistic name, the performance is rooted in unfiltered yet hidden commentary of the ego pretences and the conventional conduct, the us vs them and the I for an I, hajde perhajr!
