A non-for-profit exchange platform for creative people and activists!

STEREOSPACE is a Kosovo registered association that aims to serve as a know-how and idea exchange platform for creative people, whose aim is to promote healthy environmental behavior, culture and evoke discussion on culture and identity-related topics.

Moreover, it provides incubation space and residencies to music, multimedia, and other initiatives driven by artists and activists.

STEREOSPACE: A cultural space for artists and the local community in the village of Llukar

In 2019, Guri and Isah, both members of the prominent Kosovan-alternative band Gillespie, and joined by Dren, a former musician and passionate activist, were searching for a rehearsal space when they discovered an abandoned and heavily damaged House of Culture in Llukar, near Prishtina, which had been turned into a dumping site. They cleaned and gradually restored the space through DIY efforts and community support.

Following these initial interventions, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipality of Prishtina, formalizing the use of the space. The House of Culture later underwent further renovations supported with funds from the Municipality, helping to improve the infrastructure and ensure safer, more sustainable use of the venue.

STEREOSPACE is an independent cultural and community space dedicated to music, art, and experimentation. What began as a rehearsal room has evolved into a platform for live sessions, recordings, workshops, and collaborative projects. The space also provides a platform for artists to engage in community work by offering cultural activities for the local community, with special emphasis on pupils from the nearby public school. Operating on principles of DIY culture, openness, and shared authorship, STEREOSPACE supports emerging artists while strengthening local cultural participation.
